Molly’s Barkery

June 27th, 2009 at 7:02 pm

Message from Molly

I am a 6 1/2 year old Golden Retriever named Molly. About 6 years ago my mom made me some dog biscuits, all natural and very good for me. At first she made me only a couple of different kinds, Peanut Butter and Cheddar Cheese. I loved them so much that she experimented on different “favors” and was I glad cause now I get to taste all of her biscuits.

Mom says if I don’t like certain biscuits, she won’t make them, so I guess it is up to me dog friends on what biscuits that she makes. I went to doggie school when I was about a year old, about the time she started to make my biscuits. Well guess what, she took a bunch of biscuits to my graduation class and shared them with the other friends of mine and the biscuits were a big hit. So now at every graduation class we go and treat other puppies and dogs to my moms biscuits. This is fun cause I meet new friends and they like moms biscuits.

In the past 3 years mom and dad have been sharing my homemade dog biscuits with a lot of other dogs far and near.

I hope to share them with you also.

Please look over our store. Well, I best go, mom just took some biscuits out of the oven and I have to go back to work taste testing them. ( Hard job but someone has to do it) oh yea, my biscuits are so good that my mom opened up a new place at the Elkhart American CountrySide Farmers Market.. wow what a place, come and see us.

Thanks

Molly

Uptown Kitchen in Granger Indiana, Eat well. Be happy.

June 2nd, 2009 at 5:58 pm

Uptown Kitchen in Granger Indiana Image

Great food, that’s good for you!

“Oh my God, we love breakfast for dinner!”

We welcome you to the Uptown Kitchen and invite you to experience and enjoy a mouth-watering array of high quality, all-natural foods.

Each item on our menu features fresh ingredients that are prepared for you daily.

Our vegetables come from certified organic sources, when available.

Our turkey and ham are freshly roasted, and our organic, all-white chicken breast is marinated in our house recipe and then grilled.

We use no processed meats which have preservatives, coloring agents or chemicals.

Our goal is to provide you with an extraordinary experience you’ll want to enjoy again and again.

A warm welcome from our family to yours.

About Us

My mother is a gourmet cook and she taught me how to cook when I was 7 years old. Food and cooking have been a passion of my life, throughout my entire life.

I’ve been talking about owning a restaurant since I was 10.

The goal when we started designing this restaurant was to create something that has a little bit more of a colorful funky urban type atmosphere that you would find in a bigger city like Chicago, where I am from, or San Francisco which is one of my favorite eating cities in the world.

So we wanted to create something that was bright and happy and had a fun energy to it that when people walk in, they kind of say “Wow, we haven’t seen something like this in the area before,” and I think we’ve achieved that.

It’s still a bit of a work in progress but we’re almost there, but we’ve got really a cool combination of colors and things for the eyes to see. It’s definitely something that’s a little bit more funky than we’ve seen in this area.p1

I tend to think that the ‘breakfast for dinner’ concept is NOT a trend because everyone I talk to that hears about it says “Oh my God, we love breakfast for dinner!” So it seems like it’s a very popular thing and that just not a lot of restaurants do it. Most of the breakfast places close for dinner and so I think there is a void in this community that we are hoping to fill.

My long-term plan is to have somewhere between seven and ten restaurants in this area that will all be underneath a company that I created called the Clean Plate Club Incorporated.

So the Uptown Kitchen is the first one I chose because we have three young children at home and we try to live a fairly healthy active life and when we go out for dinner with our

kids, if we’re not going out for pasta, its very difficult in this town to get them to eat something that’s not deep fried.

Eat well. Be happy.
